Erucamide CAS#112-84-5

Naturally Derived Additive: Erucamide is refined from vegetable oil and is an important derivative of erucic acid, offering a sustainable raw material source.

Excellent Lubrication and Anti-Sticking Performance: It effectively reduces surface friction and prevents sticking, making it highly suitable as a processing aid for plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene.

Good Thermal Stability and Processing Performance: With a higher melting point and strong thermal stability, erucamide enhances the heat resistance and thermoplastic properties of plastic products.

Wide Industrial and Food-Contact Applications: It is widely used in plastics, rubber, printing, and machinery industries, and is also approved for use in food packaging materials due to its non-toxic nature.

Products Description of Erucamide CAS#112-84-5

Erucamide is a high-grade fatty acid amide derived from erucic acid and purified from plant oil sources. This product exists as an odorless, wax-like solid. It features insolubility in water while demonstrating moderate solubility in common organic media, including ketones, esters, alcohols, ethers and benzene.

Featuring a long unsaturated C22 carbon chain and polar amine groups within its molecular structure, erucamide delivers superior surface polarity, a relatively high melting point and reliable thermal stability. These merits enable it to serve as an ideal alternative to conventional similar additives.

It achieves extensive application across plastics, rubber, printing, mechanical manufacturing and other relevant industries. When adopted as a processing auxiliary for polyethylene, polypropylene and other polymer materials, it can efficiently eliminate adhesion issues, boost surface lubricity, and improve the thermoplasticity and heat resistance of finished products.

This ingredient is non-toxic in nature and has obtained official approval for incorporation into food packaging materials in multiple countries.

Product Application of Erucamide CAS#112-84-5

Erucamide primarily acts as a high-efficiency slipping and anti-blocking additive for a wide range of plastic resins, including CPP, BOPP, LDPE, LLDPE, EVA, PVC, PVDF, PVDC, PU and metallocene polyethylene. It can substantially lower both dynamic and static friction coefficients of plastic film and sheet surfaces, optimizing material processability and boosting overall packaging operation efficiency.

In printing ink formulations, this ingredient delivers excellent lubrication, anti-sticking and anti-fouling properties. It effectively inhibits the sedimentation and agglomeration of pigments and fillers, while improving the redispersibility of ink systems. Additionally, it strengthens the abrasion and scratch resistance of printed products, optimizes surface smoothness, and shows particularly prominent performance in color printing scenarios.

When incorporated into rubber materials such as SBE, SBP and SBR, as well as PP composites, erucamide can upgrade the surface gloss and stain resistance of finished products and increase their elongation performance. It also improves rubber vulcanization characteristics and wear resistance, and possesses a remarkable anti-aging effect to prevent sunlight-induced cracking damage.

Furthermore, it functions as a release agent and surface polishing & gloss-enhancing auxiliary for thermoplastic elastomers including TPE, TEO and TPU, as well as fluororubber materials. Beyond that, it serves as a professional lubricant and demolding agent for engineering plastics, LDPE calendered synthetic leather, fiber products and non-woven fabrics, and is also widely applied in textile finishing processes.
