Tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) CAS No. 116-14-3
Tetrafluoroethylene (TFE, CAS No. 116-14-3) is a colorless, odorless combustible gas with molecular formula C₂F₄. It serves as the core monomer for synthesizing polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, widely known as Teflon) and other fluoropolymer products.
TFE acts as a vital feedstock for PTFE, a plastic featuring exceptional heat resistance and corrosion resistance. Besides, it functions as a monomer to produce fluororubber and fluororesins, and is also an essential component for formulating fire extinguishing agents and fog suppressants.

Product Application of Tetrafluoroethylene (TFE)
Tetrafluoroethylene, also known as perfluoroethylene, is widely used in the production of fluoropolymers, fluoroelastomers, and various fluorinated intermediates. It is applied in the plastics and resin industries and also serves as an intermediate for pesticide products such as flufenoxuron.
As a key monomer, tetrafluoroethylene is used to manufacture polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), other fluoroplastics, fluororubber, and perfluoropropylene. It can also be utilized as a raw material for producing advanced thermoplastics, engineering plastics, oil-resistant and low-temperature-resistant rubber materials, as well as new types of fire extinguishing agents and fog suppressants.
