Product Description of Dodecyltrimethylammonium Chloride CAS#112-00-5

Dodecyltrimethylammonium chloride, a cationic quaternary-ammonium surfactant, is commercially offered in two distinct forms: anhydrous solid and industrial aqueous solution.

The high-purity anhydrous grade (98-99%) occurs as white to pale-yellow powder or chunks with strong hygroscopicity and tends to agglomerate upon moisture absorption, featuring a melting point of 37 ℃ and good solubility in water and ethanol. The widely-used industrial aqueous solution (32-52 wt%) is a colorless to pale-yellow transparent viscous liquid, whose viscosity rises with increasing active-ingredient concentration, and it is fully miscible with water. Both forms possess stable chemical performance as well as favorable permeability, emulsification, antistatic and bactericidal properties.
